Illinois Climate Action website
There's a new website for the drive to take action on climate change in Illinois. The Illinois Climate Action Network website has up to date information about bills in the Illinois General Assembly and fact sheets on several proposals. It's a joint project of Illinois environmental organizations.
I've gotten updates form the Illinois Environmental Council and the Sierra Club saying that the Illinois Clean Car Act, which I've written about many times, may come to a vote within the next two weeks. The Illinois Clean Cars website has more information on the bill and its progress.
Myself and several local environmental leaders met with Representative Poe and Senator Bomke yesterday. They weren't ready to declare their support or opposition to the Clean Car Act without spending more time to study the bill. Whether you're in Springfield or elsewhere in Illinois, now is a good time to call your state Representative or Senator and ask them to co-sponsor the bill.
