Put Pat on tour
For the last few weeks we've seen the national press use Rod Blagojevich interviews as a spectacle like the side attraction in a three ring circus. His New York TV interviews weren't about serious policy discussion since that's not something the national press does. They did it because the story is sensational, Blagojevich is sure to give a wild interview, and it makes for good ratings.
Now I read that he's getting more national TV bookings. Fine. If the national press wants to put on the freak show again then how about they interview our new Governor too?
Every national television news show that gave Blagojevich a platform should also interview Pat Quinn. Let them show us that they're willing to have a serious discussion about the future of Illinois politics instead of using our state's misfortune as a cheap ratings ploy. Pat Quinn has never been shy about talking to the press so he shouldn't mind.
The only time I saw Blagojevich discuss an issue at length on a national show before the impeachment was on the Daily Show.

The national news networks are bested by a fake comedy news show. This is why I don't waste my time watching the national corporate press. The best you can hope for is a twisted reality since most of them spent six of the last eight years being a lap dog for George Bush instead of a watch dog.
