Gail Simpson confronts sprawl

If you spend much time talking to Springfield residents you'll find that most people want the city to invest in downtown and our older neighborhoods. Yet, local government and business institutions consistently advance policies that promote ugly sprawl on the edge of town.

Ald. Gail Simpson is one city leader who's standing up to sprawl and calling for more investment inside Springfield. She's speaking at the next Sierra Club program meeting Tuesday, March 23, 6:30pm, Carnegie Room, Lincoln Library.

This should be a good one.
