YERT Tuesday
We'll be showing clips from YERT (Your Environmental Road Trip) at the Springfield Environmental Film Festival Tuesday starting at 6:30. They're releasing a series of short videos while they work on a full length movie.
Here's a clip I like that we won't be showing Tuesday night. It was filmed in Kentucky but it applies just as well to Southern Illinois.
We have two excellent speakers lined up for Tuesday. Illinois Sierra Club Director Jack Darin will talk about legislation currently under consideration to boost solar power in the state. Sierra Club Coal organizer Becki Clayborn will speak about coal issues impacting the area, including the new plant proposed in Taylorville. The feature documentary is A Road Not Taken.
Plus, we'll have silent auction items to benefit the Sierra Club Sangamon Valley Group, including tickets to the next Illinois Symphony Orchestra performance at Sangamon Auditorium, a signed copy of "Reckoning at Eagle Creek" by Jeff Biggers, two Kerasotes movie tickets, a new painting by Mike Mayosky, a poster from Terry Farmer Photography, and more.
I expect this to be the best night of the festival so I hope to see you there!
