Global warming shows sense of irony in Mike Pence's district

I was glad to read that the Obama administration will support passing climate change legislation later this year in a lame duck session of Congress. Anti-science Republican Congressman Mike Pence responded by expressing his outrage that Congress might deliver on the mandate a majority of voters gave them in 2008.

Meanwhile back home, there's currently a three day long "Excessive Heat Watch" in effect for most of Pence's Congressional district. Wow. Can't the guy take a hint?

Global Warming hits Mike Pence's Congressional District

Ed Markey gave the funniest suggestion I've heard for politicians like Pence who ignore climate change scientists.

“An iceberg four times the size of Manhattan has broken off Greenland, creating plenty of room for global warming deniers to start their own country," Markey said in a statement. “So far, 2010 has been the hottest year on record, and scientists agree arctic ice is a canary in a coal mine that provides clear warnings on climate."

That sounds like the start of a horrifying reality show where Rush Limbuagh, Glenn Beck and Jim Inhofe have an epic battle of witless egos to see who gets melted off the island first.
